Daniel Markel oversees all aspects of acquisitions, development, securities, and investor relations. Working closely with DT’s legal and banking partners, Markel’s strategic vision has DT well positioned in the commercial real estate market. Markel’s extensive experience in acquiring, developing and managing real estate investments has focused on multi-family residential buildings, building conversions, and land entitlements. His leadership and expertise with adaptive reuse projects in Los Angeles has been recently recognized by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal with the award-winning DT NoHo Lofts project.

Markel’s creativity and vision in real estate is supported by his experience as a respected investment professional. Prior to founding DT Group, Markel was a senior financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. There he managed over $100,000,000 in capital assets, providing strategic portfolio assessments for individual and institutional clients.

Markel is a licensed Real Estate Broker in California, as well as a Registered General Securities Broker and general Securities Principal with his Series 7, 63 and 24. He received his Bachelor’s Degree with honors from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he was an adjunct professor in investing, financial planning and entrepreneurship. He earned a Master’s Degree from New York University.
